The Three Rooms

The Hopper's Room

The Hopper’s Room is a lovely old building with a vaulted oak framed ceiling. We’re not quite sure for what it was originally intended for but think it was used for hop pickers who came to Kent for working holidays.

It has its own en-suite shower room and a King Size bed and also has an outlook onto The Orchard. Relax in bed and watch the HD TV or take advantage of the complementary Wi-Fi.

The Orchard Room

The Orchard Room has been well loved by all who have visited. It is light and spacious at 350 sq ft (33 sq m) with high ceilings (a novelty for Kent houses!) and has a lovely outlook through three sets of French Doors onto our Apple and Pear Orchard and the surrounding fields. Not only does it have a Super King Size Bed but ample room to relax in its own seating area with huge and comfortable Edwardian armchairs and HD TV with FreeSat. There’s also a small fridge where we leave milk for tea and coffee for you.

The large shower room is no less impressive having a walk in double size 1600 x 800mm shower and full height glass brick tiled screen.

Hopefully you can get a flavour from the photos but be assured guests have returned again and again!

Ideal for longer stays.

Small (18ft x 6f 6 inches) but perfectly formed, Bramley, our Shepherd’s Hut has been hand made by a local Kent craftsman in traditional style with its oak axles and metal wheels using original 19th century plans. No longer a humble hut for a shepherd during the lambing season it’s been brought up to date though as it is fully insulated from the elements with en-suite and high pressure shower, Wi-Fi and a fridge for your evening wine!

Although it wasn’t towed into position by a horse it hasn’t lost its period charm as it has lovely tongue and grooved boarding throughout, a wooden shutter on the bed window and of course the obligatory wood burner!

We hope you enjoy the spot we have chosen at the top of our Orchard with its outlook over neighbouring fields…and next to our favourite Bramley apple tree.

If you want a more adventurous glamping visit to Wilderness and the Weald of Kent… The Shepherd’s Hut is the place to stay. Enjoy the tranquility of our garden in the evenings and make the short walk in the morning to the main house for your breakfast.

One for  the glampers amongst you!

PS To avoid damp feet on the short walk through the orchard you may want to bring waterproof footwear!

We hope you enjoy your stay at Wilderness…David & Victoria.
