Guestbook

We were made to feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. Facilities were excellent, bed very comfy and whole experience lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back and have already passed on details to several friends. Xx

Mr & Mrs W, UK, Feb 2019

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the shepherds hut (Bramley). Very comfortable bed, wood burning stove which we did not need to light as there was a heater which worked very well for the short episodes of time we were in the hut, fresh milk in the fridge, torch for getting home in the dark.  It felt like a very personal holiday to us, made all the more better by the little touches from Victoria. We are already telling friends about it and hope to go there again later in the year.

Tips for other travellers
For anybody going to The Big Cat Sanctuary or Leeds Castle it’s a good location.

Mr & Mrs C, UK, March 2019

The Wilderness is one of the most beautiful B&B’s we’ve stayed in. The location is really fantastic with a wonderful spacious garden, especially during Spring season. Victoria is a great host, very kind and helpful.  My rating in just one word? Excellent.

Mr & Mrs O, Germany, April 2019

We really enjoyed our stay at Wilderness B&B where we were able to completely detox from the city environment.

Mr & Mrs A, BE May 2019

The shepherds hut is perfect for a romantic getaway. Big enough for comfort, small enough for coziness. Delightful on a warm evening, but beautifully snug in a massive thunderstorm. Idyllic.

Mr & Mrs B, UK, June 2019

Both my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wilderness. From the moment we met Victoria we felt completely at ease. A wonderful location and the room was just perfect. I cannot remember the last time I felt so relaxed.

Tips for other travellers
I would thoroughly recommend visiting the Big Cat Sanctuary. A rewarding experience and they need as much support as possible to maintain the wonderful facilities for the Big Cat population.

Mrs L, Guernsey, June 2019

Beautiful place to stay. Perfect for relaxing and close to so many places to visit. We stayed when going to the Wealden festival which took up all our time.

Mr & Mrs T, UK, June 2019

Lovely and peaceful setting.

Mr & Mrs W, US, July 2019

Have visited Wilderness twice before and will certainly visit again. Numerous National Trust sites in the area.

Mr & Mrs S, UK, July 2019

Great stay. Lovely location and charming accommodation.

Mr & Mrs B, UK, July 2019

Delightful friendly people who were not intrusive but there if we needed anything. Everything was relaxed and well organised.
A tranquil place to stay in ‘The Shepherds Hut’
Hope to return to stay again.

Mr & Mrs C, UK, July 2019

Shepherd’s Hut was great, it contains everything you need and is very comfortable.

Mr & Mrs F, UK, July 2019

We wish to say thank you to Victoria for being a super host. This is the third time we have stayed at the Wilderness B&B. We usually stay for a week and love the relaxed and peaceful ambience. It’s a treat to be so close to nature.
All the rooms are very comfortable and very clean.
Thank you so much again. We look forward to our next stay.

Tips for other travellers
The location is perfect for enjoying the Kent countryside or visiting local attractions. We love steam trains and Victoria recommended we take a ride on the Kent and East Sussex Railway in Tenterden (a short drive from the B&B). The train journey was magical and we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Bodiam Castle.

The Wilderness is situated in an idyllic location, it’s wonderful to just sit in the orchard and read if you want to enjoy some ‘me time’!

Mr & Mrs C, HK, August 2019

The shepherd’s hut was a delightful and unusual place to stay and was very cosy in a lovely setting.

Mr & Mrs H, UK, August 2019

Warm and welcoming. Have already passed details on to friends
Thank you

Tips for other travellers
Beautiful location. Highly recommend.

Mr & Mrs H, JE, Sept 2019

We appreciated Victoria’s warm hospitality and excellent recommendations. The room was very private and quiet and comfortable. We will return when we are next in Kent.

Reasonably short drive to many National Trust properties in the area (Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, Bodiam Castle, Scotney Castle, Bateman’s) and the gardens of Great Dixter.  The location allows for further exploration of Kent and East Sussex.

Mr & Mrs S, US, Sept 2019

Perfect little hideaway with attention to detail.

Wilderness says it all. A lovely little bright minihome in a rural setting. Quiet at night and birdsounds to wake you up.  Would have stayed longer if possible in our (her) schedule. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely property located in a picturesque rural location. The Orchard Room is spacious and comfortable with large doors opening onto the garden. Tasty freshly cooked breakfast. Very helpful, friendly host. Highly recommend.

Mr & Mrs H, UK, Dec 2019

Beautiful rural location set outside Headcorn. Nice and quiet with plenty of wild animals and birds to view.
The accommodation itself (The Orchard Room) was a lovely modern converted barn or garage. The staff were very friendly. Nice sit down breakfast which catered for all tastes.

Tips for other travellers
Great location not far from Headcorn, Leeds Castle or the Big Cat Sanctuary or a variety of small villages to get a good feel of beautiful Kent.
